Lighting systems are priced at around $1,500 (depending on amount of sun at your location) for a lighting system that is equivalent in brightness to a 100watt conventional light.
Solar powered indoor lighting systems start at $1,200 for compact fluorescent lighting system suitable for general lighting, $2,000 for a LED based system suitable for track lighting.

Water heating systems provide 75% of annual water heating energy needs (showers, clothes washing, dish washing Etc.) A solar water heater can save $350-$1,000 per year and is priced at $6,000-$9,000 installed.
- Solar electric systems are priced at about $5-$7 per solar watt for grid tie with battery back up and about $4 per solar watt without battery backup, installation not included.
